|  Target Audience: This program was created for state and local law enforcement officers new to the area of investigating computer facilitated crimes against children, such as child pornographycollectors and Internet predators. Attendance is available for commissioned law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys only. Training will include: • Step by step "hands on" training in online undercover investigations • Overview of investigative standards and protocols • Current statutes, applicable Constitutional law and case review • Introduction to sources of child exploitation such as Myspace.com, chat rooms, online games, etc • Crime scene response and computer forensics • Case file preparation for prosecution To be held: April 21 – April 25, 2008 (Monday – Friday). Classes will be held from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Participant attendance is required to receive credit for attendance. This program is hosted by the Louisiana State Police and will be offered at Louisiana State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Training costs: $984.00 tuition per student Participants are responsible for tuition, transportation, meals, and incidental expenses. The IPA has allocated 30 available seats in the class. Seats will be assigned on a “first come, first serve” basis. Classes fill up quickly so we encourage you to register as soon as possible. |
